GPs in Berkshire are calling for all call handlers who will be talking to patients in the new NHS 111 service to have CRB checks - www.pulsetoday.co.uk/

Across all of Primecare’s services, including out of hours, everyone has a full CRB check. We think that people who are dealing with patients face to face, even those who have no direct contact, but have access to patient information should also be CRB checked. Patients and customers can be assured that Primecare provides safe, high quality services, and we will continue to do so as we develop provision of NHS 111.
As part of preparation for NHS 111, Primecare has signed an agreement with NHS Pathways and will begin piloting the system in parts of our service in early 2012. NHS Pathways is the system of choice for NHS 111 and the Primecare pilot will enable detailed modelling to understand the impact of NHS Pathways on our current services.
Primecare teams in the West Midlands are busy preparing for the roll-out of the NHS 111 service. As a large-scale provider of GP out of hours services across the region, Primecare have a vested interest in ensuring a smooth transition to NHS 111.
